Grain From Ukraine: VALSAMITIS bulk carrier to deliver 25,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat to Kenya and 5,000 tonnes to Ethiopia

Loading operations are already underway at the port of Chornomorsk.

This is the fifth vessel under the Grain From Ukraine program, designed to provide humanitarian Ukrainian wheat to countries suffering from the food crisis.

Among these countries are Kenya and Ethiopia, which will receive this batch of wheat thanks to donations from the UK, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia and the Czech Republic.

Meanwhile, the 4th vessel is being unloaded in the port of Djibouti. The bulk carrier AMIRA HANA delivered 30,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat to Ethiopia.

In addition, this morning, the port of Odesa received the bulk carrier ROYAL STAR, which will also carry humanitarian wheat.

As a reminder, the Grain From Ukraine program was launched by Volodymyr Zelenskyy and is being implemented with the support of the UN World Food Program and developed countries. More than 30 countries have already joined the program, and the amount of donations is almost USD 200 million.

As part of the program, 110,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat have already been delivered to some of the most socially vulnerable countries in Africa - Ethiopia and Somalia.

In total, since August 1, 746 vessels have left the ports of Greater Odesa under the Grain Initiative, exporting 2,500,000 tonnes of Ukrainian food to Asia, Europe, and Africa.
