Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Boris Johnson

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with former British Prime Minister and member of the British Parliament Boris Johnson, who is on a visit to Kyiv.

The Head of State noted the active public support for Ukraine by the British politician.

"I heard your statements in Davos, thank you very much for them. Thank you for supporting our country," the President said.

During the meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Boris Johnson exchanged views on practical steps that the British politician could take to help Ukraine in this difficult time. In particular, the parties discussed the preparation of a "peace summit" aimed to implement the Peace Formula that the President presented to the G20 leaders last year.

"One of the points of the Peace Formula is security guarantees for Ukraine," the Head of State noted.

"I am confident that the best guarantee for us would be NATO membership. It is important to actively promote the idea that our country should become a member of the Alliance," Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.

At the request of Boris Johnson, the President informed him of the situation on the frontline. The Head of State is confident that due to the powerful support of partners, Ukraine will manage to stop the Russian aggressor and liberate all the temporarily occupied territories.

"Additional mobilization will not help Russia, its army is not motivated," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

"However, we need more weapons: tanks, aircraft, long-range missiles," the President added.

He thanked the UK and the entire British people for their strong leadership in defense and economic support.
