russia, as an aggressor state, comprehensively violates all the rights of Ukrainians

The Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk together with the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets met with a delegation of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) led by the President of the Institute Chris Field.

Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed his sincere gratitude to the Ombudsmen for the constant support of Ukraine in the field of human rights, its guarantees and protection, for demonstrating personal courage in a difficult time for Ukraine.

“This is an example of professionalism and courage for the leaders of the world human rights institutions. You demonstrate your commitment to the ideals of human rights and freedom not in words, but in deeds,” the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament stressed.

He expressed personal gratitude to the President Chris Field for his contribution to the exclusion of the Ombudsman of the russian federation Tatiana Moskalkova from the Institute, calling it “an act of justice”.

In addition, the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament emphasized the particularly high level of cooperation between the IOI and the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets and expressed hope for strengthening and deepening of further cooperation between the organizations.

“Such a level of cooperation and dedication in relations between our institutions has not been seen during the previous thirty-one years of Ukraine’s independence and it is important for us that you continue to support the sanctity and inviolability of the ideal of human rights in Ukraine”, – said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

n particular, he noted that for our country the issue of human rights violations today sounds more acute than ever, because every day, every minute the most fundamental rights and freedoms of Ukrainians are violated by russia and its citizens.

“russia, as an aggressor state, comprehensively violates all the rights of Ukrainians. Some citizens of the russian federation elect a terrorist as their president, others press the buttons in the parliament in support of aggression, others pull the trigger of machine guns to destroy Ukrainians.

But we have something to oppose them – the high value of human rights, our attitude to each individual person,” the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament stressed, reminding that such values are enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine, the Basic Law of our state.

Therefore, according to him, we fight for every life, for every destiny, for the right of every Ukrainian to freedom and free choice.

“Every life we manage to save is our concrete contribution to the existence of the rule of law and human rights in the world. And since we have such high values, we will certainly win. Because this is justice!” – Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized.

The President of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) Chris Field, for his part, expressed admiration for the courage and bravery of Ukrainians, Ukrainian authorities and Ukrainian soldiers, who have become “an inspiration for every ombudsman in the world”.

“Ukraine stands guard over human rights, the rule of law and freedom. You are fighting the aggressor who stands on the side of tyranny. No one will forget what Ukraine is doing for the whole world. You are winning this war and you will win!” Chris Field expressed confidence.

Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, also thanked his colleagues for their steady and strong support, in particular in the issue of expelling the representative of russia from the world’s largest ombudsman organization.

“We are also working together to develop mechanisms of cooperation with other international institutions that have not yet made such an important decision as the exclusion of representatives of the russian federation from their ranks”, – said Dmytro Lubinets.

In addition, he noted that with the help of the International Ombudsman Institute, a number of activities are planned to inform human rights defenders and ombudsmen around the world about the situation in our country.

“We can call it only one word – genocide. Therefore, I urge our guests to use their great authority among the community of Ombudsmen of the world to help Ukraine to continue the procedure of recognition by the national parliaments of the world of the genocide of the Ukrainian nation, which is carried out today by russia,” Dmytro Lubinets addressed his colleagues.
