All parliaments of NATO countries should recognize russia as a terrorist state
The Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk met with the newly elected President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Joelle Garriaud-Maylam.
The meeting was held in the framework of the working visit of the Vice-Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
On behalf of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Olena Kondratiuk thanked the NATO Parliamentary Assembly for adopting an important resolution on the recognition of russia as a terrorist state.
“I am convinced that all parliaments of NATO countries should heed the recommendations of the Assembly and adopt similar decisions on the recognition of russia as a terrorist state at the level of national parliaments,” said the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.
“russia is a terrorist state, and it should be treated as a terrorist state,” stressed the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Joelle Garriaud-Maylam.
She also informed that the NATO PA was working on the official recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-33 as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
Joelle Garriaud-Maylam stressed that another important area for the NATO PA today is countering russian propaganda and fake news.
“I fully agree with Ms. Joelle that we need to work together to eliminate russian propaganda that poisons Europe and the whole world,” said Olena Kondratiuk.
