Prime Minister of Ukraine held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Norway
Support in the defense sector, cooperation in the energy and humanitarian sector were discussed during a meeting in Kyiv by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre.
Denys Shmyhal emphasized that the visit to Ukraine at such a challenging time is an important and timely manifestation of Norway's solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
"Norway holds a leading position among the countries providing practical support to Ukraine. We highly appreciate allocation of aid in the amount of almost EUR 1 billion by your country. This is crucial to support the social sphere and the macro-financial stability of our state, because the largest portion of the budget today is aimed at providing the defense sphere," said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked for the military and technical assistance to our country, as well as for joining the European Union’s sanctions against russia.
Moreover, the parties discussed the issue of energy security in Europe and the activation of the joint Ukrainian-Norwegian economic commission.
The Prime Minister of Norway noted that his visit to Ukraine is a manifestation of solidarity and support for Ukrainians. He emphasized that Norway is doing everything possible to help Ukraine in this unprovoked war by the russian federation.
