Denmark will help in the process of rehabilitation and reconstruction of Ukraine, says Prime Minister
The assistance of Denmark in the reconstruction of Ukraine, the supply of military equipment and the strengthening of sanctions against russia were discussed at a meeting of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark Jeppe Kofod in Kyiv.
"I am grateful to Denmark for the decision to take part in the reconstruction of the city of Mykolayiv together with other international partners. I am sure that this will be the basis for involving large and medium-sized Danish businesses in the implementation of infrastructure projects in Ukraine," said the Head of the Ukrainian Government.
The parties also discussed the process of abandoning russian energy sources. Denys Shmyhal raised an issue of diversification of gas supply sources, as well as the supply from Denmark of petroleum products and raw materials necessary for farmers.
"This will provide significant help in the course of sowing campaign, as the enemy is deliberately trying to disrupt it and cause a shortage of fuel in Ukraine," said the Prime Minister.
Denys Shmyhal thanked Denmark for its strong political and financial support. The PM stressed that Ukraine also counts on Denmark's advocacy in gaining EU candidate status by Ukraine. Our country is also awaiting a positive decision of the European Commission to suspend for a year import duties on all Ukrainian exports to the EU.
