Denys Shmyhal: Steady supplies of heavy and modern weaponry will bring the day of victory closer
During his working visit to Washington on April 21, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. The parties discussed the importance of prolonging military and financial support for Ukraine to enhance the country's defense capabilities in the face of the russian invasion.
"Ukraine continues its struggle, and I am proud of the courage of our people. We have no doubt that we will win this fight. But to bring our victory closer, we need more heavy and modern weaponry. We are winning now, and we need to secure this result and ensure our victory," said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
Denys Shmyhal noted that Ukraine needs an uninterrupted supply of heavy weapons to ensure a strategic advantage over the enemy, including long-range artillery, MLRS and other weapons.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked the U.S. Secretary of Defense for the enormous support that the United States continues to provide to Ukraine.
"Thank you personally and your team. We will fight and we will win. All together, because we defend our democracy and we defend the democratic values of the whole world," said the Head of the Ukrainian Government.
In turn, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin assured that Ukraine would not be left alone, and the United States would further provide military assistance to reinforce the Ukrainian army.
