At a meeting with Nancy Pelosi and members of the U.S. Congress Denys Shmyhal called for joining efforts of partners to support Ukrainians

During his working visit to Washington, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and members of the United States Congress.

The parties focused on acute issues: arms supplies and financial support for Ukraine, as well as further imposition of sanctions against the russian federation.

"Ukraine needs financial assistance to support internally displaced persons and migrants, as well as to ensure the demining of our territories. It is also critical to provide assistance to people who are either in the vicinity of or in a combat zone. We need to consolidate the efforts of our partners to help them, "said the Prime Minister.

Denys Shmyhal emphasized that Ukraine had been resisting the aggressor in a full-blown war for 56 days, and during this time it had felt significant support from the United States. Nevertheless, it is crucial to ramp up sanctions pressure on russia to force it to end the war in order to stop it from creating crises in democracies.

The Prime Minister thanked the Speaker of the House of Representatives for her unswerving support of Ukraine during the eight years of war, for understanding the problems and challenges facing our country.
