April 26, 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster

On the night of April 25–26, 1986, a film crew of Ukrainian Television was on duty near a police dispatch center on Sim’i Khokhlovykh Street in Kyiv. The journalists were waiting for an event they planned to film for the television program “Due to the Circumstances.” They did not have to wait long…

Without yet knowing what had happened, they set off together with police vehicles toward Chornobyl.

The Chornobyl disaster remains the largest man-made catastrophe in the history of humanity. It was the result of the irresponsible and criminal actions of the Moscow-controlled totalitarian regime. The catastrophe demonstrated that lies, criminal irresponsibility, and manipulation of information by the communist system of the Soviet Union endangered the peaceful existence of the entire world.
