Oleksandr Korniienko: Ukraine strengthens interparliamentary cooperation with Poland on European integration
During a working visit to Poland, the First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksandr Korniienko, met with Deputy Marshal of the Sejm Monika Wielichowska to continue the dialogue about cooperation in terms of Ukraine's European integration.

"By order of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, I am in charge of implementing of the European integration component of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Ukraine and Poland, which was signed by Ruslan Stefanchuk and Włodzimierz Czarzasty," noted Oleksandr Korniienko.
The parties held a substantive discussion on areas where Poland can support Ukraine on its path to EU membership, drawing on Poland’s experience in aligning its legislation and institutions with EU standards.
In particular, the discussion focused on expert and practical support in implementing European integration reforms, primarily in the field of the rule of law. Special attention was also paid to the exchange of experience in institutional reform and the development of local self-government.
Oleksandr Korniienko and Monika Wielichowska also discussed formats for enhanced cooperation, including the involvement of experts and parliamentarians from both sides.
“We agreed to hold follow-up meetings in the near future and to establish cooperation mechanisms involving experts to achieve the most effective results,” the First Deputy Speaker emphasized, expressing gratitude to Poland for its support of Ukraine on its path to full membership in the European family.
