Yulia Svyrydenko takes part in the opening of the U.S.-Ukraine Partnership Forum
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko kicked off a working visit to Washington with her Government team. The Head of Government took part in the opening of the U.S.-Ukraine Partnership Forum, which is taking place on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings.

As part of the Forum, a meeting was held with the heads of leading American companies. The parties discussed the economic situation in Ukraine amid ongoing attacks, as well as opportunities for investment and partnership.
“The U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund is set to become an effective tool for attracting private capital. The fund is already operational—the first investment has been approved, and over 200 applications are currently under review,” the Prime Minister said.
Yulia Svyrydenko also provided an update on Resilience Plans. According to her, the Government is working on a strategic overhaul of the power grid, and preparations are underway for winter and challenges posed by the enemy. The priorities include protecting energy infrastructure, distributed generation, backup power for heat and water supply, and the decentralization of heat supply.
“The Government has already allocated over UAH 22 billion to fund priority work on protecting and connecting cogeneration plants in communities. We must ensure at least 4 GW of additional distributed generation capacity across the country. Support from international partners—both financial and in the form of equipment—is key to the further implementation of our Resilience Plans,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.
She also invited partners to collaborate on joint projects in the energy sector. Ukraine is a reliable partner for securing new logistics routes for energy supplies and offers mutually beneficial use of the capacity of Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities.
The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to American businesses for their willingness to strengthen economic and investment cooperation.
