Olexandr Mischenko held a meeting with Ambassador of Turkmenistan Toyly Atayev and Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Ukraine Alisher Kurmanov

On 7 April, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Ukraine Toyly Atayev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Ukraine Alisher Kurmanov.
During the meeting, Olexandr Mischenko spoke positively on the outcomes of his recent visit to the Central Asia region, in particular to the Republic of Uzbekistan, and expressed his gratitude to the Uzbek Party for the constructive level of talks held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other state institutions of Uzbekistan.
The Ukrainian diplomat also expressed appreciation to the high leadership of both countries for their principled position and steadfast support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity. The Ukrainian diplomat made special remark of Tashkent’s readiness to host more than 100 Ukrainian children for rehabilitation in 2026.
Deputy Foreign Minister emphasised that Ukraine attaches particular importance to the development of relations with the states of Central Asia and sees the region as a promising area, primarily in the context of mutually beneficial cooperation in trade and the economy, culture and humanitarian affairs, education, and other areas of bilateral relations.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation, as well as issues of coordination in multilateral formats. They also exchanged views on the schedule of bilateral contacts going forward.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of intensifying interregional cooperation, including through the development of cooperation between sister cities.
In addition, the Ukrainian diplomat informed his interlocutors about the situation in Ukraine caused by the recent attacks by the aggressor state on critical infrastructure, residential areas, educational institutions and other civilian sites, and also cited examples of the disinformation campaign that the Russian Federation has been conducting against Ukraine for a long time.
