Ukraine has received nearly USD 1.3 billion from the Government of Japan under the World Bank’s PEACE in Ukraine project: Yulia Svyrydenko

Ukraine has received nearly USD 1.3 billion from the Government of Japan under the World Bank’s PEACE in Ukraine project. The funds have been credited to the general fund of the State Budget and shall be channeled to social spending. This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

“This is the second tranche from Japan, financed under the G7’s Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration for Ukraine mechanism. Its total volume amounts to USD 50 billion,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.

Since February 2022, budgetary support from Japan has exceeded USD 10.7 billion, of which more than USD 2.7 billion has come as grants.

“We thank the Government of Japan for the provided grant, as well as the World Bank for effectively coordinating international support. This assistance is extremely important for ensuring Ukraine’s financial stability,” emphasized the Head of Government.
