This autumn, the Kyiv Academic Puppet Theater will open its 100th season, and next year, in 2027, it will celebrate its centennial anniversary

That is why our meeting with the theater’s Director and Artistic Director, Ihor Hulyi, had a purely business and practical focus. Over cups of coffee, new collaborative projects were conceived and immediately approved, ready for implementation in the near future.
During the conversation, Mr. Hulyi shared plans for the anniversary year, upcoming productions, and educational programs for children, as well as international cultural exchanges already being prepared in partnership with leading European theaters. The meeting unfolded in a warm yet productive atmosphere, where every idea quickly took shape in concrete plans.
The Puppet Theater, which has shaped aesthetic taste and theatrical culture in Kyiv for a century, continues to serve as a platform for creativity, experimentation, and new partnerships, preparing a true artistic celebration for its audience in the 100th season.
