Yulia Svyrydenko meets with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković

Prime  Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko held a meeting with Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković. The discussions focused on joint steps to strengthen Europe’s energy security and the importance of the EU’s course toward full independence from russian energy resources.

“Our energy system remains under daily targeted attacks by russia. At the same time, we are ready to continue seeking solutions that allow us to remain a reliable partner and to offer alternative routes for energy supplies,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked the Government of Croatia for additional energy support, which is critically important for Ukraine at this time – including a EUR 1.5 million contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and the transfer of transformers and generators to help stabilise Ukrainian energy system after russian strikes.

Yulia Svyrydenko highlighted that Croatia, having gone through its own post-war recovery, brings valuable expertise in humanitarian demining and veteran rehabilitation.

“We are deepening our partnership in humanitarian demining. Under our cooperation agreement in mine action, Ukraine has received 69 DOK-ING machines, which are actively deployed in clearing and restoring Ukrainian land. We are grateful for the delivery of additional demining equipment,” noted the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

The meeting also addressed cooperation on recreational and rehabilitation programs for Defenders and their families. Ukrainian service members are receiving treatment and rehabilitation in Croatia – an important contribution to helping them return to active life after injury.

The Prime Ministers agreed to begin preparations for a joint intergovernmental commission and to ensure Ukraine’s participation in the Three Seas Initiative Summit.

“We value Croatia’s support and its continued readiness to stand with Ukraine,” emphasised Yulia Svyrydenko.
