As of 1 January 2026, the Republic of Cyprus assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union

The editorial team of the periodical “Kyiv Diplomatic” & Magazine Kyiv Diplomatic sincerely congratulates the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to Ukraine, His Excellency Mr. Michalis Firillas, and, through him, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, the Government, and the House of Representatives.

We wish Cyprus every success in addressing and accomplishing all the objectives it has set for its Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The Republic of Cyprus will perform the duties of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union until 30 June 2026, after which it will hand over the Presidency to Ireland.
