The Deputy Chairwoman Olena Kondratiuk met with the Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis and invited Azerbaijan to join the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children
During her official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk held a working meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis Adil Aliyev. "We are well acquainted with Mr. Vice Speaker and have been in contact since my participation in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev," said the Deputy Chairwoman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
At the same time, she expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan, represented by the Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis, for the humanitarian assistance provided to Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale russian invasion: energy equipment, demining, recreation and rehabilitation of Ukrainian children.
The parties also discussed holding the sixth international Forum of Intercultural Dialogue. "Representing Ukraine at the Forum, I am talking about justice for Ukraine and our peace plan, the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy," Olena Kondratiuk said, inviting Azerbaijan to participate at the highest level in the International Peace Summit in Switzerland and the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine in Berlin.
In addition, Olena Kondratiuk raised the issue of mass abduction, "re-education" and forced adoption of Ukrainian children by the russian federation, which has signs of genocide: "According to official data, there are about 20,000 such children. But we realize that the real numbers are higher.”
The Deputy Chairwoman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appealed to her Azerbaijani colleagues to join the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children: "Perhaps at the level of the Ombudsman, as some countries have already done. This is an exclusively humanitarian issue that has already united 36 countries.”
"There are no other people's children, and Azerbaijan, which has been fighting for 30 years to restore its territorial integrity, understands what Ukraine is going through, all the grave humanitarian consequences of the war," the Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk emphasized.
Taking the opportunity, the Vice Speaker invited Adil Aliyev to visit Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
