Moldovan Parliament will consider a resolution condemning the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children by russia and the need for their prompt return home

During her official visit to the Republic of Moldova, the Deputy Chairwoman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk held a working meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu.

One of the main issues of the meeting was the support of the Moldovan Parliament for the return home of Ukrainian children abducted by russia during the full-scale invasion. In particular, Olena Kondratiuk asked the Speaker of the Parliament to consider a resolution condemning the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children by russia and the need for their prompt return home.

“We will definitely do this. We will prepare and consider such a resolution in defense of Ukrainian children,” Ihor Grosu assured.

The Vice-Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament also thanked Moldova for joining the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children and emphasized the importance of continuing this activity.

In addition, during the meeting, it was discussed that our countries have many common challenges and a common path to the EU, which they are going through together, cooperating at all levels, in particular, in the issues of legislation adaptation. Olena Kondratiuk emphasized that Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in particular, are doing everything possible to start direct negotiations on EU accession as soon as possible.

Another extremely important topic raised was the International Peace Summit in Switzerland. On behalf of Ukraine, the Vice-Speaker invited Moldova to participate in the event at the highest level.

“The security, stability and immutability of the European course of neighboring Moldova is extremely important for Ukraine, because it is also our security,” emphasized Olena Kondratiuk.

For his part, the Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament Igor Grosu emphasized that at all international meetings he asks for help for Ukraine because it is also help for Moldova.
