Australia is preparing a new aid package for Ukraine, with drones and man-portable air defence systems

Australia is preparing a new aid package for Ukraine worth USD 100 million. This issue was discussed during a meeting in Lviv between Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence of Australia Richard Marles.

Half of this amount will be spent on a large batch of man-portable air defence systems. More than USD 30 million will be directed on drones as part of the "drone coalition", and the rest will be used for other military needs.
In addition, Australia will provide Ukraine with air-to-ground ammunition.

"Today we discussed a wide range of issues of strategic cooperation with Mr Richard Marles. I believe that our partnership is long-term and has great prospects for development," said Denys Shmyhal.
In total, Australia's support for Ukraine has already amounted to more than USD 655 million, of which USD 540 million is military assistance.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked the Government and people of Australia, as well as Richard Marles personally, for their deep involvement in Ukrainian affairs, for their effective solidarity, and for the concrete things Australia was doing for our country.
