Denys Shmyhal takes part in ministerial roundtable at Spring Meetings

Medium-term financial support programmes are currently a priority for Ukraine. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a ministerial roundtable at the Spring Meetings.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy also took part in the event online.

The Head of Ukrainian Government, for his part, thanked the World Bank and the IMF for implementing joint projects and programmes to strengthen Ukraine.

“We expect the United States to approve an assistance package for Ukraine in the near future, which is crucial for us in times of war. In addition, we insist that the frozen russian assets be used to strengthen and restore Ukraine,” the Prime Minister said.

He added that with limited resources, the Government would focus on urgent needs such as repairing energy and critical infrastructure.

“We are focusing on concrete steps and priority sectors for investment to build a sustainable wartime economy. We are doing everything possible for the financial stability and self-sufficiency of our economy,” said Denys Shmyhal.

The Head of Ukrainian Government thanked all the states and institutions that had supported Ukraine.
