Denys Shmyhal and Kristalina Georgieva discuss further financial cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF

On the sidelines of the Spring Meetings in Washington, DC, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva.

The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked for the close cooperation in financial support issues, in particular on the EFF Extended Fund Facility programme to the tune of USD 15.6 billion.

"This year we have already received one tranche. We appreciate the IMF has commended our effective work under the programme. We expect the same successful results for obtaining another three tranches," said Denys Shmyhal.

The parties also discussed the economic recovery and the steps taken by the Government of Ukraine in this direction. The Prime Minister also emphasised the importance of confiscating russian assets and using them for the needs of our country. He noted that Ukraine is working with partners to create an appropriate international mechanism.

Denys Shmyhal thanked Kristalina Georgieva for her efforts to support Ukraine and Ukrainians.
