Andrii Sybiha received Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori

 

 

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha received Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori.

Andrii Sybiha expressed his gratitude to the Japanese side for the unwavering support and provided to Ukraine assistance that has already reached USD 12 billion.

The Japanese side was briefed about the crucial needs of Ukraine for strengthening of defense capabilities to protect civilians and infrastructure, as well as the need to support energy sector, that was significantly damaged by Russian attacks. In this context, priority areas of cooperation with the Japan International Technical Assistance Agency (JICA) have also been determined.

The counterparts also focused on Japan's support for the Peace Formula and preparations for the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland.

The Ambassador of Japan also briefed the First Deputy Minister on the main outcomes of Prime Minister Kishida’s visit to the United States.

The Parties acknowledged positive dynamics of the political dialogue between Ukraine and Japan, and particularly the substantive character of the discussion between foreign ministers of the two countries within the G7 ministerial meeting on Capri. In addition, they agreed on further steps to deepen bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Japan.
