The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine met with the Speaker of the House of Commons of the Parliament of Great Britain, Sir Lindsay Hoyle
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, began his working visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland with a meeting with the Speaker of the House of Commons of the Parliament of Great Britain, Sir Lindsay Hoyle.

During the talks, the parties discussed further strengthening the Ukrainian-British strategic partnership and developing interparliamentary cooperation. Ruslan Stefanchuk presented an updated list of Ukraine's most urgent needs in the defence sector.
«The United Kingdom is one of our country's key allies. Its military assistance saves the lives of Ukrainians every day, and its political support is of great importance for the security of the whole of Europe,» the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada emphasised.
Particular attention was paid to the sanctions policy against russia, the fight against circumvention of restrictions, in particular through the so-called ‘shadow fleet’, as well as the issue of using frozen russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine.
During the meeting, the issue of returning illegally deported Ukrainian children was also discussed. Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed that Ukraine counts on the British Parliament to continue to play an active role in this area.
The parties confirmed their common position: a just peace is possible only through strength — by strengthening the Ukrainian army, exerting maximum pressure on the aggressor, and ensuring the unity of allies.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine handed over to the Speaker of the House of Commons of the Parliament of Great Britain, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, the text of the Agreement on Centennial Partnership between our countries, the Law of Ukraine ‘On Ratification of the Centennial Partnership Agreement between Ukraine and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland’ and a note on its entry into force.
«Today in London, the Centenary Agreement officially entered into force. This is a historic moment in strengthening political trust, strategic partnership and unbreakable friendship between our states. This Agreement is not the beginning of our partnership — it strengthens it. It consolidates mutual support between our peoples for decades to come, defines mechanisms for security cooperation, deepens military-industrial cooperation, and forms a new level of cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, education, science, and the reconstruction of Ukraine.
This is an agreement of trust. A hundred years of partnership is not a limit, it is a solid foundation for the future,» Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasised.
