Ruslan Stefanchuk discussed with the State Minister of the German Federal Foreign Office support for Ukraine and strengthening sanctions against russia

In Berlin, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, met with Florian Hahn, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.

During the talks, the parties discussed key security issues and Germany's continued support for Ukraine. Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the German side for its comprehensive political, military, financial and humanitarian assistance, emphasising that its contribution is essential for strengthening Ukraine's defence and resilience.

The parties agreed that peace can only be achieved through force and pressure on the aggressor. That is why the joint priorities include strengthening Ukraine's air defence, increasing ammunition supplies, countering drones and missile threats, and developing defence programmes between Ukraine and Germany.

Special attention was paid to the issue of strengthening sanctions policy. Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed the importance of blocking channels for circumventing restrictions, stopping the supply of critical components for the russian military-industrial complex, and strengthening control over the so-called ‘shadow fleet.’

The reconstruction of Ukraine was also discussed. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada supported the German initiative to create a mechanism for using frozen russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine's recovery, stressing that this is not only a financial issue but also a matter of justice.

Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked Florian Hahn for the frank and substantive dialogue, as well as for his consistent support for Ukraine.

«Germany remains our reliable strategic partner on the path to peace and justice,» emphasised the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
