Ukraine has a strong support on the EU integration track — Oleksandr Korniienko
First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko took part in the High-Level Dialogue “Ukraine’s Economy on the Path to the EU.”
International leaders, parliamentarians, government officials, business representatives and members of the academic community discussed a wide range of issues related to Ukraine’s economy in the context of EU membership — in particular, what businesses should expect, including both challenges and opportunities.
The First Deputy Speaker stressed the importance of broad discussions on Ukraine’s accession to the EU, exchanging views on reforms, and exploring opportunities for the country and business.
“In the fourth active year of our European integration track, we have plenty of substantive issues to discuss — above all, what EU accession should mean for us. Such dialogues should move from offices and capital centers into local communities, enterprises, and production sites, with the active participation of citizens,” he said.
Oleksandr Korniienko expressed gratitude to EU Commissioner for Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi and Denmark’s Minister for European Affairs Marie Bjerre for standing together with Ukrainians these days.
“We feel strong support for Ukraine’s EU integration track. We look forward to the next stages and decisions that will contribute to this process,” the First Deputy Speaker emphasized.
Concluding his speech, Oleksandr Korniienko thanked all participants and organizers for this important dialogue on Ukraine’s European integration, calling for active involvement and participation in similar discussions in the future.
