Yulia Svyrydenko meets with German Vice Chancellor and Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko met with German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister of Finance Lars Klingbeil, who visited Kyiv for the first time.

The parties discussed key challenges facing Ukraine today: financing the state budget, defence needs, and ensuring macro-financial stability.

“Continued cooperation with the IMF and strong partner support are essential to addressing these priorities,” the Head of the Ukrainian Government emphasised.

Particular attention was paid to reforms and economic recovery.

Yulia Svyrydenko presented the Reforms Matrix – an interactive tool that tracks over 200 reforms and more than 400 indicators.

“The Government’s focus is on deregulation and privatisation to open opportunities for private sector investment and drive the restoration of industry, energy, and housing,” the Prime Minister noted.

German partners shared their experience in implementing grant support programmes for businesses and expressed readiness to explore opportunities for attracting investment to Ukraine.

The discussion also covered European integration. Decisions regarding EU negotiation clusters are expected to be adopted as early as September.

“It is important that Ukraine and Moldova advance this path together,” Yulia Svyrydenko stressed.
