Ruslan Stefanchuk held a meeting with former President of the European Parliament Pat Cox

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, met with former President of the European Parliament Pat Cox. During the conversation, they discussed Ukraine's European integration agenda, the security situation, and the need for a just peace — without territorial concessions, with real guarantees and stable support from partners.

Special attention was paid to the role of Jean Monnet Dialogues, which, according to Ruslan Stefanchuk, have become an important format for strengthening the institutional capacity of the Verkhovna Rada and its consolidation around the European integration course.

‘We participated in a prayer breakfast together, which is truly a symbol of unity. I would like to thank you for your many years of work helping to unite Ukrainians through the Jean Monnet dialogues,’ emphasised the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.

Ruslan Stefanchuk also noted the importance of strengthening sanctions pressure on the aggressor and preventing one-sided interpretations of historical memory issues.

In turn, Pat Cox emphasised: "We have come a long way together. And I can assure you that we remain deeply committed to supporting Ukraine on its path to European Union membership. I look forward to continuing the dialogue within the Jean Monnet process."

At the end of the meeting, Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked Mr Cox for his willingness to continue to be a bridge between Ukraine and European institutions.
