Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine met with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania
In Brussels, on the sidelines of the NATO Parliamentary Summit, Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania, Elisa Spiropali. During the meeting, the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament thanked Albania for its financial, humanitarian and defence assistance. He noted the provided ambulances, armoured vehicles, a helicopter and ammunition as an example of real solidarity with Ukraine.
«This is a manifestation of true solidarity,» Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
The parties also discussed further interparliamentary cooperation. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada invited Mrs Spiropali to Ukraine and thanked her for adopting the agreement on security support for our country.
The Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament also noted Albania's support for Ukraine's European integration.
«Ukraine highly appreciates Albania's support for Ukraine's European integration. The European Union should be a union of those who share the values of freedom,» said Ruslan Stefanchuk.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada also thanked Albania for its participation in the Crimean Platform and stressed the importance of continuing to work together to de-occupy the peninsula.
