Denys Shmyhal takes part in the commemorative events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, together with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska, paid tribute to the victims of World War II.

The event was also attended by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, diplomats and government officials.

The participants of the ceremony on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II (1939-1945) laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

"Ukraine, as a country that suffered some of the greatest losses in that war, is once again standing up for justice. We are confronting the aggressor who brings destruction and violence. We are fighting for our right to live in an independent free state. We defend the principles of the civilised democratic world," said Denys Shmyhal.

The fallen heroes of the past and present wars were honoured with a minute of silence.
