The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Kyiv
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk discussed with the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Pia Kauma further international isolation and increased pressure on russia.
Ruslan Stefanchuk congratulated Ms Kauma on Finland's chairpersonship of the OSCE and expressed his hope that the organisation's support for Ukraine will be focused during this period.
This is Pia Kauma’s second visit to Kyiv since the full-scale invasion, which demonstrates Europe's unwavering support for Ukraine.
“I expect that under Ms Kauma's leadership, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will continue to take a tough stance against russian aggression and make a significant contribution to the establishment of a just peace,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada said.
During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues of cooperation between Ukraine and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, in particular, further international isolation of russia and increased pressure on the aggressor, security cooperation and the revision of the European security architecture.
At the same time, they focused on humanitarian support, namely assistance to Ukrainian children who were illegally taken by russia, and on Ukraine's recovery from the war with the help of international partners.
In her turn, Pia Kauma assured of unwavering support for Ukraine. “I personally and the 12 members of the OSCE delegation from different countries who accompany me are fully on your side, supporting you. And we will do everything in our power to make Ukraine's voice heard,” the OSCE PA President stressed.
