Denys Shmyhal and Donald Tusk discuss modernisation of border infrastructure and defence issues

On 10 February, Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Poland Denys Shmyhal and Donald Tusk had a telephone conversation.

The parties discussed cooperation in important areas, including defence and logistics.

One of the important topics discussed was the issue of border infrastructure.

“The modernisation of checkpoints on the common border was carried out, among other things, with the support of USAID. We have agreed with Donald Tusk to promote further development of border infrastructure, in particular with the involvement of the European Investment Bank,” said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine expressed hope that during the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union there would be significant progress in bringing Ukraine closer to the EU.

The Head of Ukrainian Government thanked his counterpart for the 46th package of military aid prepared by Poland for Ukraine, as well as for the unwavering support during the full-scale war with russia.
