Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Albania Denys Shmyhal and Edi Rama discussed defence cooperation during a telephone conversation on 11 February.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked Albania for training the Ukrainian military, noting that Ukraine expected to continue and expand this programme in accordance with the agreement on long-term cooperation and support. “We are coordinating efforts with our partners to counteract the russian shadow fleet,” said Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine also welcomed the opening of the Albanian Embassy in Kyiv. Denys Shmyhal is convinced that the launch of the diplomatic mission will help strengthen cooperation between the two countries at all levels.
“We appreciate Albania’s support for initiatives in favour of Ukraine, as well as for Ukraine’s future membership in the EU and NATO,” stressed the Prime Minister, expressing gratitude for the assistance provided to Ukraine after russia’s full-scale invasion.
