The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held the first conversation with the President of the National Council of Austria on cooperation and support for Ukraine
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk began his working visit to the European Parliament session with a telephone conversation with the President of the National Council of Austria Walter Rosenkranz. The dialogue focused on bilateral cooperation and support for Ukraine.
Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked Walter Rosenkranz for his personal assistance to Ukrainians who took refuge in Austria during the full-scale war. The parties highly appreciated the level of cooperation between the Parliaments of the two countries and considered the possibility of educational exchanges for young MPs and diplomats, as well as expert support from Austria. In addition, an invitation was extended to Mr Rosenkranz to visit Ukraine.
In his turn, Rosenkranz confirmed that the upcoming change of government in Austria would not hinder support for Ukraine, and that any negotiations on the war would only be possible with the direct participation of Kyiv. Cooperation in reconstruction, humanitarian aid and assistance to Ukrainians in Austria will continue. The parties paid special attention to the return of illegally taken Ukrainian children, support for the frontline regions and financing of key humanitarian projects.
"I thank Austria for its solidarity and support of our struggle for freedom," concluded the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk.
