Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė
At the outset, Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed gratitude for the support Ukraine receives from Lithuania and the Lithuanian people.
He also thanked the Lithuanian government for its proactive and effective cooperation in all areas of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized that russia is forming an “axis of evil” around itself. "This process is no longer limited to weapons from Iran. We now see the unification of three nuclear states, which should serve as a signal for Ukraine’s allies to take decisive action," he stressed.
In light of this, Ruslan Stefanchuk believes that support for Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Victory Plan is crucial. "This is a strategic plan, with the first point involving an invitation for Ukraine to join the Alliance. Putin must understand that his geopolitical calculations will fail," he emphasized.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament urged Ingrida Šimonytė to continue supporting Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration on the international stage and among Ukraine’s partners. He noted that an invitation to NATO would provide clarity on how Ukraine’s partners see the country’s place in the security architecture.
Another topic of discussion was Ukraine’s urgent defense needs. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized the necessity of permitting Ukraine to strike military targets on russian territory.
