The Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk met with the Head of the Community of Sant'Egidio Adriano Roccucci and thanked the community for charitable assistance to Ukrainians during the war
During her visit to the Vatican in July this year, the Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk had the opportunity to meet and get acquainted with the activities of the benefactors of the Sant'Egidio Foundation.
On Wednesday, 7 August, in Ukraine, the Vice Speaker met with Adriano Roccucci, the Head of the Community of Sant'Egidio, which is recognised by the Holy See as a public lay association of the Church, operating in 70 countries.
According to Olena Kondratiuk, the Sant'Egidio Foundation has been helping Ukraine since its independence, especially in the area of vulnerable groups.
The Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed her gratitude to Adriano Roccucci for his kind deeds and assistance to our compatriots in the difficult times of full-scale russian armed aggression. In particular, for the 23 million euros of humanitarian aid collected and delivered.
"The organisation regularly delivers medicines to our medical institutions, people are received at the Assistance Centres in Kyiv, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk, and special assistance is provided to the elderly and internally displaced persons," said Olena Kondratiuk.
