Prime Minister met with President of Slovenia
On 28 June, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with President of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar. The parties discussed relations between the two countries, the European integration of Ukraine and the protection of the rights of Ukrainian children.
The Head of Ukrainian Government thanked Slovenia for its support in all areas, including military assistance.
“We also appreciate the decision to allocate an additional EUR 5 million for humanitarian initiatives and projects to rebuild Ukraine during the Recovery Conference in Berlin,” said Denys Shmyhal.
In addition, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the EU’s consistent policy of increasing sanctions pressure on russia. According to Denys Shmyhal, the sanctions pressure on the aggressor must be increased.
Among the topics discussed at the meeting was the continuation of Ukraine’s European integration. As the Head of Government noted, Ukraine relied on the continued support of Slovenia in this matter.
During the meeting, in the presence of the Prime Minister of Ukraine and the President of Slovenia, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the governments of the two countries on cooperation in the field of comprehensive support for Ukrainian citizens temporarily displaced in the Republic of Slovenia.
The implementation of the memorandum will help protect the rights of Ukrainian children in Slovenia and ensure the safe return of families with children to Ukraine in the future.
