Denys Shmyhal discusses interregional partnership and energy recovery with President of the German Bundesrat
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with President of the German Bundesrat Manuela Schwesig in Kyiv.
The Head of the Ukrainian Government noted the high level of partnership between the two countries, in particular at the level of communities and regions.
“We have already concluded 210 communal and 7 interregional partnerships. We expect to continue working in this direction, as it contributes to the restoration and development of Ukrainian communities and cities,” said Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister thanked Germany for organising the Recovery Conference, which resulted in the signing of more than 100 agreements worth a total of EUR 16 billion. He also thanked Germany for its patronage of the restoration of Chernihiv region.
“Assistance in the energy sector is particularly important. We appreciate the willingness of German companies to provide the necessary equipment,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine said.
Among other things, the parties discussed the decentralisation of the Ukrainian energy system and investments in the development of renewable energy.
They also addressed the protection of infrastructure and people. Denys Shmyhal expressed his gratitude for the provision of Patriot systems and missiles.
Manuela Schwesig noted that her visit demonstrated the solidarity of the German Government and all federal states with Ukraine.
Denys Shmyhal, for his part, thanked the German Government and Chancellor Olaf Scholz for their firm support and significant contribution to the strengthening of Ukraine.
