There is only one way to stop russia — to secure the Ukrainian defence system
The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine held a working meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Simonas Šatūnas.
First of all, Oleksandr Korniienko informed about Ukraine's achievements on the European integration track and expressed expectations for the next steps on this path. "We greatly appreciate Lithuania's readiness to provide expert assistance across the entire spectrum of the negotiation process with the European Union," he stressed.
The parties also discussed the security situation, in particular, the energy sector. "There is only one way to stop russia — to secure the Ukrainian defence system," said Oleksandr Korniienko, adding that Ukraine's steadfast self-defence will break russia.
The First Vice Speaker spoke about the consequences of the enemy attacks — damage, power outages and forecasts for the near future. In this regard, Oleksandr Korniienko emphasised the need and importance of providing Ukraine with air defence systems that can protect both the Ukrainian people and critical infrastructure. He also expressed gratitude for Lithuania's increased energy support for Ukraine.
"We are grateful for the comprehensive assistance of Lithuania and the support we have received and continue to receive," said the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The meeting was also attended by Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze, the Chair of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the European Union.
