The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Hakan Fidan
First of all, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine stressed that relations between Ukraine and Turkey have a deep historical background and are based on mutual interests: “Both our countries are interested in developing and deepening strategic cooperation.”
The parties focused on the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked Turkey for its leadership in implementing the food security clause and the overall implementation of the Formula.
In addition, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed that it is important for Ukraine that Turkey, in particular the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, participate in the Global Peace Summit to be held in Switzerland in June. “After all, this Summit will allow us to form a common position for international pressure on russia by countries that respect the world order,” he said.
In conclusion, Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that Ukraine highly appreciates Turkey’s experience and authority in the region. At the same time, it is important that Turkey supports Ukraine in its struggle for independence and the return of all the territories occupied by russia.
