Iryna Borovets had a meeting with Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Seymour Mardaliyev
On April 16, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Iryna Borovets held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Seymour Mardaliyev.
The interlocutors discussed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation, confirmed mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Iryna Borovets informed Seymur Mardaliyev about Russia's ongoing military aggression against Ukraine, thanked Azerbaijan for the humanitarian aid provided, primarily for the energy system of Ukraine and the reconstruction of civil infrastructure.
The parties paid special attention to cooperation within the framework of international organizations, in particular to support of pro-Ukrainian initiatives and condemnation of war crimes by the Russian Federation, the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children, as well as the inclusion of Azerbaijan in the Peace Formula, the International Crimean Platform and the Global Peace Summit.
Ambassador Seymour Mardaliyev informed about the preparations for the UN Climate Change Conference 2024 – COP-29 – in Azerbaijan.
The Ambassador also assured of Azerbaijan's determination to continue supporting Ukraine in its defense of its independence and territorial integrity.
