Denys Shmyhal met with EU High Representative Josep Borrell
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with High Representative of the European Union Josep Borrell in Brussels on 20 March.
The parties discussed Ukraine’s key priorities ahead of the EU-Ukraine Association Council.
In particular, they discussed the use of frozen russian assets for Ukraine’s needs, support for the Peace Formula and preparations for the Global Peace Summit, the adoption of a negotiating framework and the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
The meeting also focused on further military assistance, in particular under the European Peace Facility (EPF) and the EU’s European Defence Industrial Strategy. Denys Shmyhal thanked the EU for an additional EUR 5 billion in military assistance to Ukraine.
The Prime Minister concluded by expressing his hope for fruitful Association Council meetings.
