We ask all friendly parliaments to take a clear position on the non-recognition of the so-called presidential elections in russia
During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of the recent visit of the Vice-Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament to Lithuania and the establishment of further cooperation between the parliaments of our countries.
In particular, Olena Kondratiuk called on Lithuania not to recognise the so-called russian presidential elections, especially to condemn their holding in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
“We are now asking all friendly parliaments to take such a clear position,” the Vice-Speaker emphasised.
In addition, Olena Kondratiuk expressed hope that the Lithuanian Seimas will adopt a resolution condemning the mass abduction of Ukrainian children by russia as soon as possible.
The interlocutors also discussed the strengthening of inter-parliamentary diplomacy and the search for new formats of cooperation, in particular, the possibility of organising joint meetings of the Parliamentary Assembly of Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania.
Olena Kondratiuk also expressed her sincere gratitude to Lithuania for its active participation in Ukraine's reconstruction.
“I have visited Irpin and Borodianka with the leadership of the EU parliaments on several occasions. And it is very valuable that Lithuania is really helping and financing the reconstruction of kindergartens and schools here. This brings these communities back to life after liberation from russian occupation,” the Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasised at the end of the meeting.
