The war began in Crimea

Ten years ago, precisely in the last days of February, Russia started a war against Ukraine. It started with the seizure of the Ukrainian Crimea. On February 26, 2014, about 15,000 activists came out with state and Crimean Tatar flags under the walls of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to support the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The action was attacked by pro-Russian forces, and later the initiators and participants of the rally were persecuted by the occupiers and were forced to leave the peninsula or end up behind bars.
