We appreciate Norway’s contribution to the protection of Ukrainian skies
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre.
Denys Shmyhal thanked for Norway’s unwavering support for Ukraine: in terms of arms, finance, and sanctions. In particular, for the five-year programme of military and humanitarian assistance worth about EUR 7 billion.
“We are particularly grateful for the newly announced missiles for the IRIS-T air defence system, the possibility of receiving additional F-16 aircraft, funds for the purchase of gas for the winter, and resources for the humanitarian sector. We appreciate Norway’s contribution to protecting Ukrainian skies from russian attacks. This is what Ukrainians need most of all,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine noted.
The parties raised the issue of food security and the functioning of the grain corridor.
They also discussed Norway’s participation in the reconstruction and support programme for small and medium-sized businesses.
Jonas Gahr Støre, for his part, noted that Norway would continue to assist Ukraine in the energy sector, humanitarian demining, and contribute to the reconstruction. Norway supports the EU sanctions against russia and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula.
