Yevhen Perebyinis received copies of credentials from newly appointed Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Ukraine Feliks Baumann
On June 8, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis received copies of credentials from newly appointed Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Ukraine Feliks Baumann.
The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude for Switzerland's support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and the practical assistance provided to our country since the beginning of the Russian Federation's full-scale war against Ukraine.
Yevhen Perebyinis informed about the consequences of another act of terrorism committed by the aggressor – the blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant in the Kherson region, stressing the need to unite the efforts of the international community in order to prevent the repetition of similar crimes.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of continuing Switzerland's assistance to Ukraine, particularly in the areas of humanitarian demining, construction of shelters, as well as expressed interest in the participation of Swiss businesses in projects for the reconstruction of critical and civil infrastructure.
On a separate note, Yevhen Perebyinis thanked for the important decision of the Council of Cantons of the Federal Assembly of Switzerland to introduce amendments to the Swiss legislation that are meant to simplify the procedure for the re-export of military goods and expressed hope for the support of this decision by the lower house of the legislative body.
Ambassador Feliks Baumann, in his turn, expressed his determination to promote development and deepening of cooperation between the two countries in all areas and to provide support to Ukraine for the restoration of peace in Europe.
