Olexandr Mischenko held a meeting with Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Nakagome Masashi
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Nakagome Masashi. The parties discussed key issues of Ukraine–Japan cooperation, including prospects for exchanges of high‑level and top‑level visits, as well as the further development of political dialogue between the two countries.
Special attention was devoted to humanitarian assistance provided by Japan, which remains critically important in addressing the consequences of the ongoing Russia’s war of aggression. The Ukrainian side expressed its sincere gratitude to the Government of Japan and the Japanese people for their consistent and large‑scale support for Ukraine, particularly in the humanitarian, energy, and financial spheres. Olexandr Mischenko specifically noted the disbursement of the next tranche of assistance amounting to USD 1.3 billion under the ERA loans mechanism, emphasizing that these funds are of vital importance for stabilizing the state budget and ensuring social payments.
The meeting also addressed the issue of strengthening sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation and the need for continued joint efforts by the international community to hold the aggressor state accountable for grave violations of international law. The parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to the principles of the international legal order and to continued coordination of efforts within multilateral frameworks.
