Poland has been, is, and will be in solidarity with Ukraine: Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Włodzimierz Czarzasty

Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Włodzimierz Czarzasty spoke out from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during a parliamentary session on 24th of February 2026.

In his speech to Ukrainians, he confirmed Poland’s unwavering support for Ukraine.

«Exactly four years ago, russia, our common enemy, while violating all principles of international law, driven by hatred for Ukrainian independence and Ukrainian democracy, carried out an unprecedented and shameful attack on your country. Your soldiers and your people impressed and continue to impress the entire civilised world with their heroism. On behalf of myself and the Polish Parliament, I thank you for this,» said Włodzimierz Czarzasty.

On behalf of the Polish nation, he honoured the memory of those who died defending Ukraine’s independence.

«I condemn president putin as a criminal, I condemn the people who, on his orders, commit murder and rape against the Ukrainian people,» emphasised the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, remarking that there can be no free Poland without a free Ukraine and no free Ukraine without a free Poland.

According to him, Poland has been, is, and will be in solidarity with Ukraine.

«Our support is demonstrated through actions, not just words or declarations. This was the case in 1991, when Poland became the first country in the world to recognise Ukraine’s independence,» noted Włodzimierz Czarzasty, adding that one of the most important guarantees of security for Ukraine and its development would be our country's accession to the European Union. Poland, as he said, supports these aspirations with all its might.

«Let me conclude by referring to the opening lines of the national anthems of Ukraine and Poland: “The glory and will of Ukraine has not yet perished,” “Poland has not yet perished, so long as we still live.” These words from our national anthems gave us strength when it seemed that the enemy had the upper hand, when we doubted the support of our allies. May the words of our national anthems give us strength, faith and hope today, on 24th of February 2026. And today, I say with all my strength to Ukraine, to your nation who is fighting: Glory to Ukraine!» concluded the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland.
