European parliamentarians’ appeal to the President of the United States on supporting Ukraine against russian aggression
European parliamentarians addressed a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump, urging him to maintain decisive support for Ukraine in its war against russian aggression, strengthen assistance to protect its sovereignty, and ensure stability and security in Europe and worldwide.

The appeal emphasizes that not only Ukraine’s existence but the security of the entire democratic world is at stake. The signatories stress that russia’s daily strikes on Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure aim to break the resistance of the Ukrainian people and destroy the country’s statehood. Any attempts to appease the aggressor or pressure the victim of war are described as morally unacceptable and dangerous for global stability, as Western weakness only encourages authoritarian regimes to launch further attacks.
«To bow before russia is to abandon shared values and plunge the free world into anarchy and chaos,» the letter states.
The authors place particular emphasis on the role of the United States as a leader of the free world. They highlight that Washington’s resolute stance can deter further aggression and secure a just and lasting peace. In this context, the parliamentarians quote U.S. President Ronald Reagan, the 40th President, who, responding to a question about his strategy toward the USSR, said: «We win, they lose». According to the authors, these words should guide the approach to countering russian aggression today.
«The U.S., Ukraine and the free world must win; russia and its axis of evil allies must lose,» the appeal concludes, calling on the international community to unite and support Ukraine in its fight for freedom and democratic values.
The letter was signed by over 40 European parliamentarians, including members of national parliaments, committee members, members of the European Parliament, as well as Ukrainian MPs.
