Ruslan Stefanchuk discussed with the President of the German Bundestag Julia Klöckner the return of illegally deported Ukrainian children
During the events of the Fourth Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk met with President of the German Bundestag Julia Klöckner. He expressed his sincere gratitude for Germany’s consistent support and the significant increase in assistance to Ukraine — decisions that genuinely strengthen the defense capabilities of our state.
During the conversation, it was emphasized that in the current difficult period, unity among international partners is of decisive importance. Ruslan Stefanchuk and Julia Klöckner are fully aligned in their view that no steps should be taken that could encourage russian aggression or create opportunities to evade accountability.
A separate topic of discussion was the return of Ukrainian children illegally taken out of the country — one of russia’s crimes that requires decisive and coordinated action from the international community.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada also presented Julia Klöckner with a high state award. By a decree of the President of Ukraine, for her significant personal contribution to the development of interparliamentary cooperation and support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the President of the Bundestag was awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, First Class.
The parties confirmed their readiness to continue maintaining close dialogue and to further strengthen cooperation between the parliaments of Ukraine and Germany.
