Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Meets with Speaker of the Swedish Riksdag
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, began an official visit to Stockholm as part of the parliamentary dimension of the Crimean Platform. During the visit, he met with Riksdag Speaker Andreas Norlén, expressing gratitude for Sweden’s steadfast support of Ukraine and for hosting the Fourth Parliamentary Summit of the Crimean Platform.

The leaders discussed issues of defense assistance. The three most recent aid packages alone amount to nearly $4 billion — almost equal to the total support provided over the previous three years. Such backing strengthens Ukraine’s ability to defend itself and deters the aggressor.
The discussion also covered coordination of positions on peace efforts and the U.S. vision for ending the war. «Ukraine seeks peace, but a just peace—without recognition of the occupation, without restrictions on our defense capabilities, and without any veto on our Euro-Atlantic choice. At the same time, russia is using negotiations to buy time, and the only path to peace is through strengthening the capabilities of our allies,» Stefanchuk emphasized.
The sides also discussed security guarantees, frozen russian assets, and sanctions policy. They agreed that Ukraine must enter any negotiation process from the strongest possible position — before, during, and after any ceasefire.
